Turtles and weight watchers

Yes, Saturday is my due date and still no baby. Believe me, I've been talking to her and trying to coax her out, but so far no such luck. I had my good cry last night because I saw some pictures of myself. Pictures of pregancy should be BURNED! Josh was so sweet though. He cheered me up. After I saw the pictures, I got my weight watchers book out and I will be joining as soon as this kid comes out. :) They have a program for nursing mothers, and there's a meeting in Mound that I'm going to go to. I can work out at Crown for free, so I'm looking forward to running again, I've actually missed it. I'm sure I won't be saying I've missed it when I'm actually running, but I'll just try and remember how I couldn't run for 9 months because it was too uncomfortable.

Josh is gone to Duluth tomorrow for a game, so I'm actually praying I don't go into labor tomorrow, because he'll have to FLY home to get me. He's driving separately from the team in case I need him. Believe me, if I have any consistent contractions I'll be calling him. I've been having contractions off and on for the last week and a half or so, so I know she's getting ready, but it sure takes her a long time to get ready to come out. He has a game on Saturday, but that one is in the cities, so it's no big deal, he'll be able to get home in plenty of time.

Last Sunday Josh built the cutest bookshelf for her room. It really is sooooo cute. I can't really describe it, but it has movable heart bookends that screw into the shelf. I love it. He painted it white and has to do one more coat tonight. Maybe I'll post a picture. I have the camera all charged for the hospital and I've never used our video camera, it was given to us and so I'm trying to figure out how to use it because I'd like to take it to the hospital.

Something interesting happened to me on my way to work this morning. I stopped for some gas and this man pulled up behind me at the pump and wanted to ask me a question. He asked me if I had one of those green turtle sandboxes. (apparently he saw I was pregnant) I said no, and he said he saw one free on the curb this morning and picked it up. His wife runs a day care and she already had one and he didn't know it so he asked if I wanted it. Otherwise he was just going to put it on his curb for free. I said sure, so he stuffed it in my trunk. Isn't that nice? So now she has a sandbox to play in. :)

I go to the dr tomorrow so lets hopes theres some changes happening... :)

39 weeks...

One week from today is my due date!! I had been having trouble sleeping, but last night I finally had a GREAT night's sleep. I slept the entire night through without even having to get up to go to the bathroom. Usually, I average getting up three times a night. The night before I think I had only had about 3 hours of sleep, so I was just exhausted all day. It feels good to feel rested.

I feel like I just can't wait anymore... but then another day goes by with nothing, and then I have to face the next day. One positive... at least I'm not an elephant (even if I feel like one) because they're pregnant for like three years or something. That would be torture!

I go to the doctor tomorrow, so we'll see if she has anything new to say, probably not, they'll just check my blood pressure to make sure it's normal and ask how everything is going and remind me who to call when I start contractions. :) Can you tell, I'm ready to get this baby out? :)'

I feel kinda bad compaining though because I really have had such an easy pregnancy, with the excpetion of feeling nauseous for the first three months every day, it's been a breeze. Even my nausea was nothing compared to what some women have to go through. Lets just hope my labor is the same! :)

I signed up for this pregnancy program through our health insurance company and they're supossed to have a nurses hotline and send you a bunch of literature. I signed up for this about three months into my pregancy and would you believe I got my FIRST book and peice of literature yesterday? I think someone over there needs to work on mailing things in a timely manner, seeing as how I only have a week left! I really like the book though, it's from the Mayo Clinic and very informative.

We are getting storms today. I love thunderstorms. Josh had to cancel is soccer practice this morning though because it was hailing where he was. It hasn't started hailing here yet, but I think it's headed this way. He got to be home last night because they didn't have an evening session which was very nice. I made about 65 cupcakes for the teams last night so he was happy about that. But boy did my back hurt when I was done. I got a much needed back massage from my hubby! :)

I'm going to try posting a few more pics from my shower, I tried yesterday , but they wouldn't post so we'll see.

Have a good day everyone!

38 Weeks

Hey all. I'm going to be 39 weeks pregnant on Thursday. Yippee!! I had my appointment last Friday and they didn't check to see if I was dilated. I was a little disappointed, but oh well. I asked the dr about it, but she said it wasn't really necessary and sometimes she would rather not because all was going well. Maybe they will check this Friday. I'm so sick of being pregnant and feeling huge. She said everything was going along well. I measure 38cm, which is exactly what I should measure. (the cm coorespond with the number of weeks you are.)

Josh is having a VERY busy week. It's the first week of soccer so they have two practices a day with the guys and girls and then a meeting a 7 everynight with all the players. They will go down to once a day practices on Monday. I think he's looking forward to that. He's enjoying himself though. He thinks the girls team will be really good, and the guys looks more positive than they originally thought. We'll see, you never know how the season will be. I'm excited to get into watching the games again. I always enjoy soccer season, we're very busy, but it's fun. Especially since this year I'll be able to go to all the games since I'm on maternity leave for most of the games!

My work had a baby shower for me yesterday and it was very nice. They were all very generous. I got a lot of cute clothes. I tried to email you all some of the pictures, but for some reason all the emails kept coming back to me so I'll just post of few of the pictures on here.

37 Weeks

19 days to my due date, but boy would I LOVE to go now!!! :) I'm getting all my maternity leave stuff in order today at work, since at my last appointment the dr said I could technically go at any time. I'm definitely feeling different things now. I feel the baby dropping.

Josh went to Iowa for the weekend to help Jason build his house. He said they got half of the roof on and the porch so that was good. I didn't really do much. I made sure my house was in tip top shape for the baby to arrive and I went shopping on Saturday and bought a few essentials I hadn't gotten yet. Boring things to anyone but me! :) Except for the stoller and car seat. I picked those up this weekend so we can get them installed in the car. Josh got home Sunday afternoon took a nap and then we went out to Macaroni Grill. My favorite place. We went there when I found out I was pregnant and now we went there just before the baby arrives , it was fitting.

Tonight we are going out with friends to dinner. We're going to BW3's (Buffalo Wild Wings). This week at some point we have to set up the crib so that's ready too. I'm looking forward to finally having everything in place in the baby's room. It was great to get rid of that futon in the bedroom. Thanks to Jason and Laura who can now use that and our kitchen table which was collecting dust in the basement. Glad to get them out of my little house and open up some space.

Josh is liking his job a lot, I think he is just in one perpetual meeting after another. Must be nice to meet with your friends all day long! :)

Well my appointment went well. Baby and are doing great. I am not dilated at all, so now we just wait. At my last appointment (35 week) the baby was hanging out on my right side and now she is on my left side. She's pretty active in there. We went and toured the hospital after my dr's appointment which was really fun. It was nice to see where we are going and it kind of put our mind at ease for what to expect. It's a really nice hospital.

I'm getting very excited to have this baby. Only a few more weeks to go, less if we're lucky! I am having a very hard concentrating on anything, especially at work, I'm kinda just letting the days pass now.

Josh had his first day in his office yesterday. He enjoyed it so much. I took some pictures of it, so I'll post them for you. He said he was in meetings all day long. He's got a lot to do, and feels like he's starting behind the eight ball already. The football team gets here this week already and the soccer and volleyball players get here in two weeks. Where did time go?

State Champs!

We had a nice weekend. We were able to relax on Saturday for once. We didn't have anything going on so we went to Sams Club and STOCKED up. I wanted to do that before the baby was born. It's just nice to have lots of stuff in the freezer so I don't have to buy the essentials for a while. After that we were going to go to the drive in to watch a couple of movies, but we had storms so that kind of defeated the purpose. So we walked around the mall for a while.

Sunday we had church and then at 4 we went to Josh's end of the year soccer party for his Minnetonka team. They won state on Friday night so that was very exciting. The house we went to was beautiful. They have a dock out to the lake and they were taking the boys tubing. It was fun. They are a great group of people.

Today is my 36 week appointment and I have to go back on Friday for my 37 week appointment. Nothing like having to see the dr twice in a week. Ick. I'm anxious to see what the dr has to say. We had to fill out some paperwork for the hospital stay too. We are taking a tour of the hospital today too. 26 days from today is my due date!! Yippee!!!

36 Weeks

Hello all. I have been waiting anxiously for my 36 week appointment which was supposed to be Friday but now it seems I have to wait more... Josh won his game last night 3-2 and now the State Championship game is Friday night at 7 and I have to reschedule my dr's appointment so I can make the game. I tried to get in today, but my dr is delivering again. The earliest I could get in is Monday, so Monday I will finally find out if I'm starting to dilate. I have felt ALOT more pressure in my pelvis, so to me that seems to me the baby is dropping ever so slowly. I hope so. My friend Mimi is one week ahead of me and she is dilated to 1 and having contractions, I know you can be dilated for weeks, but at least you know things are starting.

I don't think I've written about this, but here are a few of my VERY strange cravings. Two nights ago I HAD to have meatballs and bar-b-que sauce. Not sure why, I just couldn't get them out of my head. But my steady craving is cough drops... Strange. Not just any cough drops, Halls Menthoyl cough drops. The white ones. I'm addicted to them. I can't tell you how many bags I've gone through. It started with just a craving for that menthoyl smell, so I would smell vicks while I watched TV. I even brought it to work with me to smell at my desk. Then I realized that I could EAT menthoyl. So I am.. YUM!!! It's the best. I asked my dr about it and she said that was a new one to her. She said that usually when you are craving something your body is deficient in something, but she couldn't think of what it would be with this one. :)

So I had to get that one down in writing so I wouldn't forget. I have many other craving smells and stuff, but I'm afraid to put them in writing because you all will think I'm crazy. :)

Josh is in Wisconsin right now at an athletic Director's meeting and will get home later today. He left last night and stayed the night in a hotel and the meetings are today. In case some of you didn't know, he got a "promotion". He is now the Assistant Director of athletics. He's very excited about this. NO more maintenance!!! YEAH!! No more yucky uniforms scattered all over the bedroom. :) I know he's really going to like this job.

Better get back to work. I'll update you on my dr's appt.
