Gettin' By Today

Tell me why is it so hard to get up in the mornings? Some days it really is easy to jump out of bed in the morning start the coffee maker turn on my little light next to the couch and spend some much needed time in the Word. Other days.... I can barely drag my sorry rear end out of bed. There is such a difference in life on the days that I'm able to get up nice and early and start my day off right. However, the days that I have a hard time getting out of bed you can defiantly tell it throughout my day. I feel less organized and my spirit is usually not centered on Christ. I'm writing about this today, because today has been "one of those" days. I'm not very motivated to get things done. And believe me, I have a lot to do. We are expecting company this weekend and I have baking to do, laundry, and not to mention my job. :) So on these days I suppose I just need to stop what I'm doing and quiet myself before my God. ... oh and according to the Fly lady (I'm sure some of you housewives know who she is) put my shoes on. She says that if you keep your shoes on at all times you'll get more things done during the day. That's a whole 'nother post...

Easter

Our Easter was good. We had a very busy day. We drove to Sheffield to take my grandparents to church so we left our house very early in the morning. We went out for lunch to Perkins and then went back to their house and my parents, Eric and Kelly and their family and Ken and Carol came at about 3. It was fun, but a very full and loud house. We ate dinner and they Josh and I left at around 7. Both of us ended up being sick Monday and Tuesday but are feeling much better today. Just soar throats and headaches. Klair is doing just fine. This is a boring post, but here are a couple pictures from Easter.

A Day in the Life of Klaryssa

All about me at 7 months:

  • I hate when daddy uses his power drill.. it's too scary. (or anything that makes a similar noise.)

  • Sometimes I like to be thrown up in the air and I laugh, but other times I don't like it... I think it makes my tummy sick so I make a funny face to let mommy and daddy know I don't like it.

  • I love all kinds of food. I like to try anything my mommy gives me, espescially the sweet stuff. Apple juice is the best. They say I get this from my daddy.

  • I love to talk walks outside. I look around at the trees and the birds. It's fun to be out of the house.

  • I love to pull on hair, the feeling of hair on my face makes my giggle.

  • I LOVE to wiggle. I never sit still, I've got way too much energy.

  • My duck blanket makes me feel secure, I usually suck my thumb when I have it.

  • I like this toy that my great aunt Deb got me. It's a catterpillar that sings and talks to me. It hangs in my crib and I stare at it all the time. Same with the floating bunnies that hang over my head. Mommy told me that Grandma and Grandpa Dykstra got those for me so i wouldn't be lonely in my crib.

  • I love when daddy comes home from work. He makes me laugh the hardest out of anyone.

  • I'm starting to learn that I can move around on the floor. I like to get up on my hands and knees and rock back and forth, but I just can't move quite yet. That can be very frustrating because I really want to.

  • I'm growing a tooth in my mouth and I like to feel it with my tongue all the time. It's making my nose run, and I like to lick the snot. Mommy says I shouldn't do that and it's gross, but I have to find out what it is.

  • I like to scream very high pitch at the top of my lungs too. I do that to get my mommy and daddy's attention. It works every time.

  • I'm not talking yet, but I sure watch people who do. I look at their mouth and wonder how they make those sounds.

  • But most of all I love to eat and laugh.

Grand Rapids

Hi everybody! Well, it's done!! Yippee! The remodel is finally complete. Actually I put the last coat of paint on last week and that was the trim and just a few touch ups. It's amazing how long something can drag out. But it is SO nice to have a dining room table to sit at. I can feed Klair there now too, which is much easier.

I just returned from the great state of Michigan. We took a whirlwind trip to go visit Marc and Kelli and the boys. It was a lot of fun though. Klair enjoyed playing with her cousins. AJ and Andrew are getting big so fast. i think Klair really enjoyed the wagon ride. Grandpa pulled Klair and AJ in the wagon and at one point we tied Andrew's truck to the wagon and Andrew sat in it so Grandpa was pulling everyone. It was very cute.

Klaryssa had her first pig tails this weekend which of course was adorable. They didn't stay in too long, but it was still cute. it made her look very old.
